ShareAnyFiles ("the app") lets you share files between your Android phone and another nearby device, such as an iPhone, iPad, laptop or another phone, using the web browser on that device. Nothing needs to be installed on the other device. The app is made by Share Any Files ("we").
In short: ShareAnyFiles does not collect, store or send any of your information to us or to anyone else. Your files go straight from one device to the other and never pass through the internet.
1. What we collect
Nothing. The app:
- has no accounts and no sign-in;
- contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting tools;
- does not connect to the internet or to any server run by us or by anyone else;
- does not sell, share or transfer any data to third parties.
2. How file sharing works
- Files travel directly between your phone and the other device over a local Wi-Fi link: either a temporary hotspot created by your phone, or a Wi-Fi network both devices are already on.
- The other device opens a share page that is served by your phone itself, using a QR code or a link. Each sharing session uses a new random link that stops working when sharing ends.
- Sharing turns itself off after 10 minutes without activity, or when you tap "Stop Sharing".
- Files you receive: the app always shows who is sending, how many files, their types and their total size, and saves nothing until you tap "Accept". Accepted files are saved only on your phone, in a "ShareAnyFiles" folder inside Pictures, Movies, Music or Download.
- Files you share: they are read from your phone only when the other device downloads them, and only while sharing is on. The app does not copy them anywhere else.
- The app never looks inside your files and never records their contents.
3. Information kept on your phone
To show your Transfers list and your settings, the app keeps a small amount of information on your phone only:
- Transfers list: each file's name, size, type, the time of the transfer, and the kind of device involved (for example "iPhone"). It never stores network addresses or device identifiers.
- Settings: the name other devices see, and whether you have seen the first-run tour.
This information never leaves your phone, is not included in device backups, and is deleted when you clear the list in Settings or uninstall the app.
4. What the other device sees
While sharing is on, the share page on the other device shows your phone's name (you can change it in Settings) and the files you chose to share. Files the other device downloads are saved there by its own browser and are then controlled by that device.
5. Permissions

6. Security
- The phone's hotspot is protected by a new random password each time and is meant only for the device that scans the code.
- On a shared or public Wi-Fi network, other people on that network may be able to see local traffic. For the most private transfers, use "Phone Hotspot".
- Every incoming transfer needs your approval before anything is saved.
7. This website
shareanyfiles.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for a short time to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use these logs to identify you.
8. Children
The app does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
